Cabinet approves establishment of unit to combat smoking

The Cabinet on Sunday approved the establishment of a Health Ministry unit to combat smoking.
Among the unit's objectives will be increased efforts to prevent smoking in public areas and the limiting of advertisements for tobacco products.
Additionally, new legislation passed by the Cabinet will forbid cigarettes from being sold in vending machines, and cigarette companies will be required to place warnings on their products.
