Cabinet OKs plan to let 5,250 Palestinians work in Israel

The Security Cabinet on Sunday approved a plan to increase the number of Palestinian workers allowed to work in Israel.
According to the plan, 4,000 Palestinians will be given permits to work in construction and 1,250 in agriculture, making a total of 5,250 workers, all West Bank residents.
The plan was put forward by Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer who has requested an increase in the number of West Bank workers in Israel a number of times.
