Calm returns to Lebanon after 2 days of protests

BEIRUT — Lebanese security officials said all roads have been opened and barriers removed after two days of protests in the country.
Calm returned as Lebanese Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati is to begin the process of forming a new Cabinet. Mikati was scheduled to visit former prime ministers on Wednesday.
Mikati, a billionaire businessman chosen by Hizbullah and its allies, has called for a unity government. Hizbullah and its allies ousted the a Western-backed government two weeks ago by quitting the cabinet.
On Wednesday, security officials said army and police forces will prevent any road closures. They spoke on condition of anonymity, in line with regulations.
