Captain of South Korean ferry wreck sentenced to life in prison

The captain of the South Korean ferry that sank in April 2014, causing the deaths of 304 people, was given a life sentence in prison, AFP reported Tuesday.
Lee Jun-Seok was sentenced by an appeals court in the southern city of Gwanju, which overturned a previous court ruling that acquitted him of homicide charges. In that ruling, he was giving a sentence of 36 years in prison for gross negligence.
