Car bomb in Syria's Latakia kills at least 7

AMMAN - At least seven people were killed and scores were wounded when a car bomb exploded in Latakia on Wednesday, state television said, in a rare attack in the Syrian coastal city that is a stronghold of President Bashar Assad.
State television said the explosion was in the city's main square. Syrian news agency SANA said at least 10 were killed. Latakia has been largely spared the violence of the more than four-year Syrian civil war, which has killed around a quarter of a million people.
