Car breaches West Bank checkpoint; police nab 1 of 2 suspects after chase

A suspicious vehicle broke through a checkpoint on Route 5 near the West Bank settlement of Oranit on Wednesday, prompting authorities to cordon off traffic in the area.

Following the breach, two suspects thought to be Palestinians fled from the vehicle. Security forces caught one of the suspects and conducted searches for the other. The suspect has been taken in for police questioning.

Police sappers were called to the scene to inspect the car for any possible explosives. The vehicle was later found to be without explosives.
