Ch. 1: PM surprised by US demand to stop building in e. J'lem site

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said in closed conversations Sunday that he was surprised by the US demand to stop construction work at the site of the historic Shepherd's Hotel in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, Channel 1 reported. According to Israel Radio, the prime minister said that he himself had made it clear to US President Barack Obama during their meeting in Washington that Jerusalem was out of the settlement debate.
