Chabad celebrates birthday of the Lubavitcher Rebbe

A large contingent of Chabad Hasidim from all over the Israel gathered on Thursday to celebrate the Lubavitcher Rebbe's birthday.

The event was held with dancing, and traditional hasidic melodies. Famous singer Dudu Fisher surprised the participants with an unannounced performance and told his connection to the Chabad hasidic movement.

A special speech was delivered by Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz.

Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson (1902 - 1994), the head of the Chabad - Lubavitch transformed the Jewish sect to a worldwide movement with a system of outreach and education.
