Iran is helping Venezuela's search for uranium, President Hugo Chavez said on Saturday night, emphasizing that Caracas would only use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
"We're working with several countries, with Iran, with Russia. We're responsible for what we're doing, we're in control," Reuters quoted Chavez as telling reporters in Bolivia, where he was meeting other left-wing South American leaders. "What we propose is for nuclear bombs to be eliminated. Venezuela will never build a nuclear bomb."
