CityPass: Jerusalem Light Rail drivers on de facto general strike

CityPass, the company which runs the Jerusalem Light Rail announced Tuesday morning that most of it drivers had not shown up for work, resulting in a de facto general strike.
"Unfortunately, the Histadrut does not control the driver's representatives, and quickly the 'interruptions,' became a wild and unchecked general strike," CityPass stated. The company added that the strike was timed to coincide with the Succot holiday in which many visitors flock to the capital.
The Light Rail's management turned to the National Labor Court to issue an injunction ordering the drivers to return to work.
The Transportation Ministry increased the frequency of bus lines running on the Light Rail's route to compensate for the strike.
