Clashes erupt at Kalandia as Palestinians mark Nakba Day

Clashes broke out at the Kalandia checkpoint between Jerusalem and Ramallah on Wednesday as Palestinians marked Nakba Day, on which Palestinians annually lament the establishment of the Jewish state.
According to an IDF spokeswoman, some 50 Palestinians were throwing stones at the scene and IDF soldiers were responding with crowd dispersal methods.
Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that several Palestinians were injured, however, the IDF did not confirm this. The news agency also reported clashed between IDF soldiers and Palestinians at the eastern main entrance of the town of al-Ram, northeast of Jerusalem.
Meanwhile, Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported that clashes had broken out at the Temple Mount, where right-wing Israel activists had reportedly tried to enter the compound.
