Clinton expresses concern over fate of Iran's minorities

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed "deep concern" over Iran's treatment of its religious minorities on Thursday after the Islamic regime sentenced seven Bahai leaders to 20-year prison sentences.
"The United States is deeply concerned with the Iranian government's continued persecution of Bahais and other religious minority communities in Iran," Clinton said in a statement quoted by AFP.
The Bahai leaders were arrested in May 2008 and tried this year on charges of spying for foreigners, spreading corruption on Earth, undermining Islam and cooperating with Israel.
