COGAT: Gaza border crossing to remain closed until security situation allows reopening

The Erez and Kerem Shalom crossings will remain closed as long as the security situation deems it necessary, a spokesperson for the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) said on Sunday.
The spokesperson said that the move was not meant as a punitive one, rather, was in place solely because rocket fire like that which took place on Friday night poses a mortal threat to people working at or passing through the crossings.
The spokesperson added that emergency humanitarian goods would still be transferred through the crossings.
