COGAT prevents environmental crimes at West Bank

The David Unit of COGAT (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories) prevented two trucks hauling construction debris from entering the West Bank and illegally dumping the debris there on Saturday, the COGAT spokesperson said on Sunday.
The trucks were confiscated and the drivers are being questioned by law enforcement authorities.
Over 140 tons of construction debris were apprehended in November and would have caused severe ecological damage as 20 tons of oil would have been spilled in the woods of hundreds of tires would have been burnt, said the COGAT officer in charge of environmental law enforcement Benny Elbaz.
