In a major victory for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, the Tel Aviv District Court ruled Wednesday that new candidates can join the June 30 race for chairman of the party's internal court. Netanyahu was worried that new candidates would not be permitted to join, which would have likely meant an easy victory for Likud hawk Emanuel Weiser. But the court ruled against Weiser and enabled more candidates to join the contest for the chairmanship of the court, which is very powerful in the party. Candidacies for all the institutions in the party must be submitted by Thursday afternoon.
