Court refuses to block formalizing Ariel university status

The High Court of Justice on Wednesday rejected an injunction request to block formalizing Ariel University Center's status as a university filed Tuesday by most of Israel's university presidents.
The court gave the university presidents the opportunity to amend the petition and file again at the end of January, with a request to reverse the decision to recognize Ariel as a university, since Defense Minister Ehud Barak ordered the upgrade on Monday.
