A night run to benefit Jerusalem teens at risk is set to take place in the capital on Thursday, bringing together runners from Jerusalem's English-speaking community. The run is co-organized by Crossroads Jerusalem, a non-profit providing social services for at-risk youth, and Janglo, a popular online community. It's the third year they've hosted the event, which starts at the First Station. “Three years ago, I was sitting with the Crossroads heads speaking about advertising, when they mentioned in passing that they were thinking about doing a small night run for their community,” said Janglo founder Zev Stub. “Suddenly, my eyes lit up, and I was like, “let's make this a big thing.” In past years, the event has attracted several hundred runners. This year, the organizers are hoping for a bigger turnout. “The parallel process is that Crossroads staff actually 'runs' the streets of Jerusalem many times a week in search of and to support our teens to make sure they are able to confront and overcome their challenges to lead a more healthy successful life,” said Robbie Sassoon, director of Crossroads.
