Crowds of Macron supporters gather outside Louvre, hoping for victory

Crowds began to gather in front of Paris' iconic Louvre museum on Sunday evening where French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron will later appear for his electoral party after the country's election result is announced.
While the last touches were being made to the stage, Cisse Dipocko, one of the event's workers, hoped for a victory.
"We hope our candidate, Mr Macron, will win. And for democracy, liberty, equality, fraternity, I hope he will win the presidency, above all," he said.
Polls close at 2000 (1800 GMT) and France will soon after find out if centrist Macron of the En Marche! (Onwards!) movement or far-right presidential candidate Marine Le Pen will be the next president.
