Danino’s monthly salary: NIS 85,163

Top officials within the security and law enforcement establishments continued to be well-compensated this year, with the head of the Israel Police, Insp.-Gen. Yohanan Danino, earning a gross salary of NIS 85,163 per month, more than 16 times the average public sector salary.

In 2011, the state raised the salary for new police officers to NIS 7,000 per month, according to a report issued by the Finance Ministry Tuesday.

Danino’s salary is higher than that of IDF Chief of Staff Maj.-General Benny Gantz, who makes a gross salary of NIS 81,653.
