Danon, Peace Now head debate NGO bills at Knesset

Likud MK Danny Danon and Peace Now Director-General Yariv Oppenheimer debated two controversial bills that would limit foreign funding of NGOs in the Knesset on Tuesday.
The bills were approved by the Ministerial Committee for Legislation earlier this month and were awaiting Knesset readings.
Danon stated during the debate that the "European Union is telling NGOs to influence Israelis to vote against the Likud."
Oppenheimer said that the bills were meant to delegitimize NGOs and claim they are supporting foreign governments and not the Israeli government.
