Debtors to keep power on Passover

Israel Electric Corporation has pledged to refrain from disconnecting customers with unpaid debts until the end of Passover, as a gesture for the holiday.
“Disconnecting the electricity supply is always the last step in the chain of enforcing debt payment, and we are doing everything possible to avoid taking this step,” said IEC CEO Eli Glickman.
“We see great importance in performing this gesture, which will ensure that electricity illuminates the homes of every Israeli citizen during Passover.”
For its part, the IEC owes the government some NIS 73 billion in debt..
