Despite int'l outcry, Iraq executes 11 convicted terrorists

Iraqi authorities executed eleven prisoners convicted of terrorism on Sunday, CNN reported.
According to Iraq's Minister of Justice, the inmates carried out killings and explosions against Iraqi people.
Over 100 people have been executed in Iraq since November 2011, leading the UN, UK, EU and the human rights group Amnesty International to call for a moratorium on the death penalty in Baghdad, the BBC reported.
Human rights advocates raised concerns regarding the fairness of the trials and the transparency of court proceedings, according to a CNN report.
