Despite security warnings, Israel halts import of Palestinian produce

Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel ordered Wednesday to halt the import to Israel of Palestinian produce from the West Bank, according to Channel 2 News.
Ariel's decision comes despite recommendations from Israeli security officials that the ban would seriously harm the Palestinian economy and escalate tensions between Israel and the Palestinians.
The decision will cause a loss of up to a million shekels a day to the Palestinian economy, according to the report.
