Diskin: Int'l Palestinian state declarations could work

Shin-Bet head Yuval Diskin estimates that the one-sided Palestinian independence declaration, with backing from the international community, could succeed, Army Radio reported Tuesday.

According to Diskin, the reality of such a situation would force Israel to demarcate a clear border, build border crossings, and establish a border control to ensure a clear separation between the two nations.

"If we do not do this, we will get into a reality that will prevent further separation," Diskin said at a Foreign Affairs and Defense committee meeting.
