A doctor from the Galilee convicted of assaulting his wife and daughter was sentenced to 22 months in prison by the Acre Magistrate's Court on Thursday. On one occasion, the man smashed his wife's head into the wall and broke his daughter's tooth. In the verdict, the judge wrote it was important that offenders be harshly punished in light of the increasing violence towards women and children.
