Dogs training to be guides for the blind visited the Knesset Tuesday, in honor of “Blind Day.”
The Knesset Labor, Welfare and Health Committee approved for a final vote legislation by MKs Miki Rosenthal (Zionist Union) and Ilan Gilon (Meretz) that would fine any public place that refuses to let in a blind person with a guide dog NIS 150,000.
The fine for not letting a guide-dog-in-training into a public place will be NIS 14,000 and for not employing a blind person because he or she uses a guide dog, NIS 20,000.
