Roughly 250 Umm al-Fahm residents protested against the police on Friday evening, and five were arrested, police reported in a press release.
Protesters attempted to block the inter-city road near the Arab-Israeli city, which at this point, police units broke the protest. The Arab-Israeli community had seen a surge in violent crime during the past year, many expressed frustration with police for what they see as officers failing to protect them.
