Dozens protest over Schalit outside defense ministry in Tel Aviv

Dozens of the Campaign to Free Gilad Schalit activists gathered to protest outside the defense ministry buildings in Tel Aviv on Thursday evening, ahead of the 23rd birthday of the IDF soldier held captive by Hamas. The protesters held signs slamming Defense Minister Ehud Barak, reading "Barak buried a living soldier," Army Radio reported. The banners also criticized IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi, such as a banner reading "Ashkenazi - free [Schalit] or resign." Friday will be Schalit's 23rd birthday, and his fourth birthday in Hamas captivity.
