Dubai police seize 130kg of heroin with $18 mil. value

The Dubai Police General Anti-Narcotics Department made this years largest narcotics bust on Monday when they thwarted a plot to smuggle 130kg of heroin through the Jebel Ali Port, Major-General Abdul Jalil Mehdi announced on Sunday.
According to the report, the contraband - which was valued at $18 million - was hidden in a container that arrived on a ship coming from Pakistan.
The container sailed from Pakistan in July and traveled to ports in Oman, Morocco and Nigeria before arriving in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai in early October. After a tip-off from an "informed source," Emirate authorities unloaded the ships cargo and made a thorough search of its containers, eventually finding the drugs.
