East Jerusalem men get manslaughter for killing Alexander Levlovich

Three residents of Jerusalem’s Sur Bahir neighborhood were convicted by the Jerusalem District Court for the Rosh Hashanah 2015 killing of Alexander Levlovich by hurling rocks at his car, the court spokesman announced Thursday.
Levlovich’s killing has been seen by many as the opening shot of the “Knife Intifada” which exploded soon afterward and which some say has continued in reduced levels even until the present.
After being hit by the stones, Levlovich swerved his car, hit a power pole before landing in a ditch and died.
Though the decision was unannounced Thursday, it was handed down on Monday. Two other defendants involved in the same incident were convicted earlier in 2017
