The Economy Ministry and National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Ministry have approved certification and training programs in the field of natural gas. Until now, no such programs existed in Israel, and those working in the natural gas field in Israel consisted mostly of foreign experts, the ministries said. The first training centers approved by the ministries will be opened at the Israel Electric Corporation and at the company Paz Gas. At these sites, workers will be able to learn about the entire natural gas sector, such as the installation and operation of natural gas systems. Upon completion of the courses, they can receive licenses to practice in the field, the ministries said. "The discoveries and developments in the energy and natural gas fields in Israel are accelerating," said Energy Ministry director-general Orna Hozman-Bechor. "Granting approval to the IEC and to Paz Gas to train workers to handle natural gas is an important step that will lead in the future to the integration of additional skilled manpower in the workforce in Israel's energy fields."
