Likud minister Eli Cohen: There will be a war in Gaza

"There will be a war in Gaza," Cohen said. "It would not make us happy, and it is not what we want, but there will be such a war.

There is no way of avoiding an operation against Hamas in Gaza, Economy Minister Eli Cohen (Likud) said at the Maariv and Jerusalem Post conference in Herzliya on Wednesday.
“There will be a war in Gaza,” Cohen said. “It would not make us happy, and it is not that we want [it], but there will be such a war.”
Cohen also bashed French President Emmanuel Macron for encouraging dialogue between US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
“Like De Gaulle in 1967, he [Macron] prefers economic interests over Israel’s survival,” Cohen said. “History repeats itself.”
