Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein met with ambassadors from Asian-Pacific countries Monday, including Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Philipines, Sri Lanka, Burma and Nepal.
Edelstein said he saw great importance in meeting with the ambassadors.
"There is great potential, not only for excellent economic ties between the countries, but for additional cooperation," he said.
Edelstein added that, for years, Israel's foreign relations focused on the US and Europe, but the trend has changed.
"My door is always open to whoever wants to create a discourse and cooperation between the Knesset and other parliaments," he stated.
The ambassadors asked to meet with Edelstein again to discuss cooperation and issues of interest to their countries.
