Egyptian court voids deal to hand over two Red Sea islands to Saudi Arabia

CAIRO - An Egyptian court declared void on Tuesday a maritime border accord with Saudi Arabia that would have seen Egypt lose control of two Red Sea islands, according to judicial sources.
The state has the right to appeal the ruling at a higher court, a judicial source said.
The agreement, which was announced in April, caused uproar and protests in Egypt where many have long considered Tiran and Sanfir islands to be Egyptian.
