Egyptian president holds talks with Saudi king

With Palestinian factions continuing to hold reconciliation talks in Cairo through Egyptian mediation, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Saudi King Abdullah met at the Red Sea resort town of Sharm el-Sheik on Tuesday to discuss the issue. The meeting was the second in three days between the leaders. Mubarak held talks with Abdullah on Sunday in Saudi Arabia that the official Saudi news agency said were also mainly focused on "the Palestinian issue." Egypt has tried to mediate a reconciliation between Fatah, Hamas and other Palestinian factions since Hamas took over the Gaza Strip in a bloody coup in June 2007.
