An agreement on the extradition of alleged child-abuse cult leader Elior Chen from Brazil to Israel will be signed on Wednesday in the Justice Ministry by the two countries' foreign ministers. Chen, 29, is suspected of severely abusing and causing others in the haredi community to abuse two toddlers for months, "to correct their corrupt souls," until the younger child, aged three, lost consciousness and suffered permanent brain damage at the hands of his own mother. When the cult was exposed over a year ago, Chen fled to Brazil. Brazil's Justice Ministry signed the extradition order after refusing to grant the suspect refugee status.
