Energy and Water Ministry to invest NIS 25m. in development

The Energy and Water Ministry will invest NIS 25 million to help finance development programs in renewable energy, water and alternative transportation fuels for the year 2013. These subsidies will come from the ministry’s chief scientist’s office, which has received 55 different candidates and will select 11 academic projects, nine pioneering and demonstration projects and 10 start-up ones, the ministry said.
Working to realize the ministry’s goal of promoting Israeli technologies, the new subsidies will also particularly promote the establishment of demonstration facilities that can lead to generating full-scale commercial solutions, the office said. By continuing to fund renewable energy and water projects, the ministry hopes to ensure that Israel remains a place of international prestige in these areas, the ministry added.
