Erdogan admits isolation: “I don't care about being alone in the eyes of the world

In remarks published by several Turkish daily newspapers on Sunday, Turkey's President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan admitted that he feels politically isolated
“I don't care about being alone in the eyes of the world. What matters is how the people view me," said Erdogan to a group of journalists at a press conference held after his return from a political tour of Latin America, which included visits to Mexico, Cuba and Colombia.
"Maybe there is an isolation on the level of leaders, but it's nothing other than envy,” Erdogan claimed, suggesting that it is his ability to honestly speak his mind that has so ostracized him from other leaders.
Erdogan has been the subject of much criticism of late due to a number of off-color comments such as his assertion that Muslims discovered America and that women's proper role is that of motherhood, a stance he claims is prescribed by Islam.
