Erekat: Abbas expected to be invited to White House

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas may be invited to the White House in the near future, said chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat in an interview with Voice of Palestine Radio.

Erekat said that the Americans are still tossing ideas around, but have not yet presented anything official. He emphasized that at this stage it's impossible to talk about success or failure. 

Erekat was on a visit to Moscow to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about the Mideast peace negotiations.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is set to meet with President Obama on March 7.
