European Parliament, Knesset make joint statement against antisemitism
MKs and Members of the European Parliament took a stand against antisemitism Tuesday.The Knesset delegation to the European Parliament – MKs Ya’acov Peri (Yesh Atid), Eli Alalouf (Kulanu) and Merav Ben-Ari (Kulanu) – and the European Parliament delegation for relations with Israel released a joint statement following their annual meeting.“The major issues under discussion included the continued rise of religiously motivated terrorism and extremism as well as the increase in antisemitism and hate crimes in Europe,” they said. “These significant challenges demand joint deliberation, information-sharing and an examination of the ways to address and combat these phenomena.”The delegations also called for stronger ties between the Knesset and European Parliament on issues relating to the economy, culture, science and technology, including increasing bilateral trade and embarking on joint initiatives in the areas of education, renewable energy and climate change.The MKs also emphasized the importance of working with Israel’s Arab neighbors on such projects as a way to build confidence and restart the peace process.ByREUTERS06/08/2025 07:57 AMByREUTERS06/08/2025 05:36 AMByMAARIV06/07/2025 02:33 PMByWALLA!06/07/2025 11:18 AMByREUTERS06/07/2025 03:25 AM
