Israeli music superstar Eyal Golan has been charged with tax evasion to the tune of some 2.5 million shekels ($700,000) and of presenting fake tax invoices.
A statement by the Tax Authority issued Sunday says that the indictment brought by the Tax Authority charges that "Liam Productions Ltd.", and its managers - Golan, Arik Bnei Moshe and Golan Sharabi- earned around 2.5 million shekels through performances and private events and then submitted false invoices totaling 2.3 million in order to reduce their VAT bill.
The three were previously arrested in January 2011 on similar charges.
