Fate of Beit Shemesh election before court on December 10

The Jerusalem District Court on Thursday announced that Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein's appeal to nullify the recent Beit Shemesh municipal elections will be heard on December 10.
The court added that it had consolidated the appeal along with other private appeals against the election result into one case and that due to the importance of the case, it would be decided by a three judge panel, including Jerusalem District Court President David Heshin, Moshe Sobel and Yigal Marzal.
Weinstein filed an appeal on Wednesday arguing that systematic and widespread fraud and forgery had called into question whether the election and its results were legitimate especially since incumbent Mayor Moshe Abutbul only beat challenger Eli Cohen by 956 votes.
