Find a doctor easily and quickly with IMA’s new app and website

For the first time, Israelis are able to search for the physician of their choice according to a variety of parameters via a smartphone application or an Internet site. The Israel Medical Association, which represents almost all public- and private- sector doctors, announced on Monday its launch of the Hebrew (for now) index.
Until now, one could locate a particular physician only by calling one’s health fund and asking for a list of specialists – or by the personal recommendations of relatives, friends and neighbors or even via the Yellow Pages.
Now it becomes much easier. The list of doctors on the list already includes 1,500 MDs and will soon include many more in the coming weeks, The IMA expects that most of the country’s doctors will want to join the list, which appears on the Internet at https://www.ima.org.il/doctorsindex. The smartphone applications can be downloaded from https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hr-y/id911795613?mt=8 for Iphones and https://play.google.com/store/apps/ details?id=com.medicine.ima from Google Play.
One can search by name, specialty and subspecialty, location, gender, professional status, languages they speak and age group that they treat.
Other details given in the index include the doctors’ positions and appointments, amount of published research, addresses and other details.
