Former Argentine president Nestor Kirchner dies at 60

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — Argentine state television has confirmed the death of former Argentine President Nestor Kirchner.
The political leader and husband of Argentina's president Cristina Fernandez suffered heart attacks Wednesday in the city of Calafate, where the couple was staying.
Kirchner was a likely candidate in next year's presidential elections as well as being the head of a union of South American nations, a congressman and leader of the Peronist party.
