Former IDF chief of general staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz hit back at comments made by his predecessor and current Strategic Affairs Minister Moshe Ya'alon over the weekend that Halutz suffered from the "sin of arrogance" which contributed to the IDF's failures during his term. Speaking to Army Radio on Sunday, Halutz emphasized that Ya'alon was trying to shirk responsibility for the failures of the Second Lebanon War, stressing that he was IDF chief until a year before the summer 2006 military campaign. "He's trying to wipe this fact from his resume," said Halutz. "It's a shame that the deputy prime minister and strategic affairs minister is occupied with another person's supposed faults," he said. "I wish him success in his job as strategic affairs minister, although I don't really understand what exactly the job entails."
