Former IDF Major General David Mimon passes away at 81

IDF Major General David Mimon, former President of the Military Appeals Court, died Friday morning. He was 81. He leaves behind three children.
Mimon will be buried in a full military ceremony in the Rishon Lezion military cemetery, with six generals in attendance.
Mimon enlisted in the IDF in 1948. He was the military commander in charge of the Gaza Strip in 1971, and in 1974 was appointed to command the Sinai peninsula, as well. He served as the President of the Military Appeals Court from 1983-1986, and retired in 1986.
