Former Shin Bet head: Israel unlikely to go to war

In light of the alleged Israeli strikes on Syria over the weekend, Israel is not likely to go to war, Avi Dichter former minister of internal security and previous director of Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) said, Army Radio reported Monday.

"I don't think [Israel] is going to war," Dichter said, adding that he did not believe Israel would engage in a style of action similar to that of the Second Lebanon War, or in any other style.

"There is no such thing as 'expected' or unexpected,'" Dichter said in regard to war, given not all scenarios can be prepared for.
