Four suspects were charged at the Ashkelon Magistrate's Court on Thursday with carrying out an armed robbery of a bank.
The charges relate to a robbery carried out against a branch of the Israel Postal Company in Rishon Lezion last December, when a masked man carrying a gun made off with NIS 21,000.
The man was chased by the manager of a nearby cafe, leading the robber to throw away the money before escaping.
More than three months later, police arrested an 18-year-old suspect from Holon and three accomplices after an intensive investigation. A search of the suspects' homes revealed fake handguns that were "exact" replicas, police said.
The suspects have previous criminal records, police said, adding that they also tried to rob a jewelry store in Rishon Lezion.
