France: Won't negotiate on al Qaida hostage terms

BRUSSELS - France will not negotiate on terms demanded by al Qaida's north African wing for the release of four French nationals held hostage since September, Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said on Monday.
"We will not negotiate on those terms," said Juppe, who was responding to reports that al Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb had demanded 90 million euros.
He was speaking in Brussels, where he was attending a regular meeting of European foreign ministers.
