French defence minister makes unannounced visit to Baghdad

French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian arrived in Baghdad on Monday for talks with Iraqi officials on the progress of the fight against the Islamic State.
The trip comes two days after Belgian authorities arrested two men in connection to the Islamic State attacks on Paris and Brussels. And although all the main suspects from those attacks are now dead or in custody, France's prime minister on Sunday warned of a "high threat" remaining to Europe.
France is part of a US-led coalition that has been carrying out air strikes against Islamic State territories in Iraq and Syria, and providing training and other assistance to local forces.
